Teacher’s Day: Appreciate because you can read this
“If you can read this, thank your teacher”
September 5, teacher’s day is a day which demands respect and reflects lots of love and selflessness. The very essence of teacher’s day is that it marks the day on which you can express your gratitude to the most selfless being- your teacher. Teaching is not only a profession but is also the mother of all other professions. This profession creates and nurtures all other professions.
Teaching is undoubtedly, the epitome of selflessness and love for everyone. It is the teacher who inspires and guides you through the thick and thin of your life. A teacher is not an individual but a phenomenon who acts like a friend, a philosopher, a guide and an inspiration. A teacher is the epitome of love and selflessness.
He is the one who reflects utter devotion, dedication and determination- Devotion for his work, dedication towards his students and determination to nurture you and bring out the best in you. Somebody has rightly quoted, “The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind.” And yes this is what a teacher does. He might be strict or lenient, easy or difficult, harsh or soft but he can never be good or bad. Every teacher is amazing in his own way because he never takes anything in lieu of what he does for you.
In ancient times, teachers in India were kept on pedestal of God but the irony is currently India is one of those countries which are facing the greatest magnitude of decline in the social status of the teachers. The question is, are we treating our teachers in the manner they deserve to be. In India, teaching is no more a preferred profession. This is not so much because teaching is a low paid profession but mainly because the profession is losing its essence that is the relationship of respect between a student and a teacher. Teachers are surely losing the social and economic status that they deserve to enjoy.
This is certainly high time to realize that our teachers deserve a better place in the society. This day is the celebration of the extra-ordinariness of being a teacher and requires to be celebrated in the best of its spirit and fervor. And this can be done only by showing our gratitude and respect to the teachers who are responsible for moulding our present and our future.
Being an education company we would just request you to remember that “If you can read this, then thank a teacher”.
